I’m just set up for my gig tonight
Gonna try ST4

I was just setting up my M-Vave foot controller

There seems to be a feature missing in ST4 v ST3

so I use button 4 for initiate crossfade

In ST3 if no song is playing it also triggers playback start

In ST4 it does not do this only says “Cross Fade Started” but does not start playback

Can you implement this small change to be the same as ST3 please

This was already implemented in ST4 and I removed it because I thought it was a bug. But if it is the way ST3 worked, I will have to reenable it again.

I was curious when I saw this my initial reaction was "how can it be crossfade if there is nothing playing?" and therefore crossfade shouldn't technically be able to start a song.

Then I thought about it some more, figured some people might use it to either fade in a song, or just it was convenient to use it effectively as both crossfade between songs and to start songs.

Is "fade in" and "crossfade" the same?
Does it really matter? 🙂
