OK, I can see that the issue is just caused by certain things being initialized too late only after the view has initially rendered. I can change that. But it has no impact on startup time.

AnthonyB I have about 400. I'm almost certain iOS 26 is still crawling with bugs, so many of the issues spark from there. In any case, I think ST4 is pretty stable and everything runs smoothly now, so I would feel comfortable using it live.

Sidebar width is now consistent when starting up. Fixed in build 2178.

Cool, thank you! Not sure if this is the reason, or maybe some other changes, but 2180 now loads really fast - about 1,5 seconds instead of 4-5 in 2112.

I really think this time difference is not caused by any builds but by something else running on your iPad.

peter It also happens with no other apps running.

Now it starts really fast, but I think I found a way to reproduce a lag:

open any other app then close it or put it into background
open ST4 < ₂ seconds start
close ST4 and open it again < ₁ second start (all other apps start about as quickly)

Weird thing: ST3 is doing this also. 🤷‍♂️
