I live in Cumbria and gig in both England and Scotland. A month ago things were financially pretty good. Now i’m on zero income.
oh well, I’m in the same boat as many, many others.
I’m not prepared to sit and fester though. I’m uploading videos on YouTube, recording marketing showcase videos, recording tracks to put on cd’s, creating marketing flyers, contacting venues to ensure my name is first on their tongue when they return to normality.
I’m checking gear, stripping it down, cleaning it, rewiring the flight cases, PAT testing it, going through my backing tracks to separate the wheat from the chaff, looking out for ways to do electronic gigs through social media.
Being stuck at home means that I have more time available than ever before and so I’m using it to give me an edge when the madness settles down.
I really hope that everyone else is well and remains well. I really hope that you too use the time wisely and productively so that we are all well employed at the end of all of this.
My Wife is an A&E Ambulance Medic for the NHS and she is spending her time going out to patients on the frontline, she’s spending most of her time in a ‘hazmat’ suit and along with her colleagues is doing an amazing job. I get to stay at home. I really don’t think I have a right to complain.
All my friends in the StageTraxx community. Keep safe, keep well, and keep on gigging when we get back to it.
See you on the other side
Brian
