Based on the way I setup my MIDI events in songs (sometimes set to 'On Load'), I concur.
I had been thinking about this and wondering if there was a way to make the feature 'smart' by making the behaviour context specific, e.g.
- In Playlist - Next song is based on sequential playlist order, because, well, it's a playlist and that is the general intent
- In Song list - do NOT try and select a 'Next Song'
Now, fingers OFF keyboards (Damir!)!! Before a few of you start madly typing about the way you use playlists and that my suggestion is heresy and armageddon rolled into one..
I KNOW! ๐
Yes, I know some people like to use a Playlist NOT as a sequential list but as a 'collection' or 'subset' of their 12 billion songs and then jump around between songs in the Playlist. As such, my idea above is no good for you. So my idea falls apart there unless there is an option to toggle exactly that behaviour On/Off when in a Playlist. But even I acknowledge that this is probably over-complicating things.
So, back to, can we have a Global Setting for Autoload Next Song like exists in ST3?
and, if there is interest, I'd still love there to either be a:
- Playlist context sensitive option, or
- A specific toggle that is an option on each playlist (in the Edit Playlist settings) for Autoload Next Song
That 2nd option would mean you can have it off by default, but if you are building a Playlist that you intend to work through sequentially from top to bottom, then you can turn the feature on just for that Playlist.
