I have been tidying up my lyric sheets in ST4 and come across two anomalies in the lyrics related to the transpose feature.
For clarity I will raise two threads but they may be related.
Issue 1. I have a lyric sheet for ‘Move It On Over’. Entered in key E (as per the original recording). It’s a bit low for the singer so we transposed it to G in the Song Details section. Apply To Chords button was on.
Went back to the lyric editor to export the lyrics as a text file so they can print it out as they want. Chords in editor are still in original key. And the export comes out in the original key of E, ignoring the transpose.
I can understand there is an argument for doing this as the export function is in the editor and the song in the editor is still in the original key (E). Only the rendered version has been transposed (maybe it should be transposed in the Editor as well?).
Problem is, this means it is impossible to export the lyrics as PDF/Txt, as the export option is within the editor, which I have always felt was I bit odd. It feels like export was an after-thought and there was nowhere else to put it.
So we either need the editor to respect the transpose settings, or for there to be a way to export the lyrics outside of the editor, where the transpose is respected.
