This isn't something I would tend to actually do often so the current workaround is "don't do it" 🙂
ST4 Build: Build 1937
Device & iOS Version: iPad 9th Gen, iOS 26.0.1
Issue Description:
- When using timestamped lyrics,
 AND
- You have the sidebar open to display Song List/Playlist/Queue
IF
You then close the sidebar,
THEN
The lyric page seems to reset back to the stop of the screen (i.e. loses it's timestamped current highlight location on screen) until the next timestamp is crossed and then it resets again to correct positioning.
It does this both in 'stand-alone' mode, and, when using Network Sessions, on the Host and Client device.
To clarify, in Network Sessions, closing sidebar on Host does not affect Clients. However, if a Network Session Client has the sidebar open, and then closes it, they will encounter the issue as described.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open a song with timestamped lyrics
- Open the sidebar to either Song List/Playlist/Queue (content doesn't seem to matter, it is the act of closing the sidebar itself that triggers the issue).
- Play song and let it get to a location in the song where your lyrics have autoscrolled and the top of the lyric is off-screen.
- Close the sidebar by clicking on whichever button is highlighted (i.e., Song List/Playlist/Queue)
- Lyrics should 'reset' back to top of lyric sheet until the next timestamp is hit and then it resets again to correct position based on your highlighting setting (Centre or Top).
The impact of this is that until you get to the next timestamp, you can't see current highlighted lyric, and position of lyric on screen is wrong.
Expected Behavior:
Closing the sidebar should have no impact on the vertical positioning of the contents of the lyric pane.
Actual Behavior:
On closing the sidebar, lyric pane resets so your position in the song is no longer visible until the song progresses to the next timestamp in the lyric sheet. Then it will correctly 'reset' to highlight position being visible and correctly positioned based on Center/Top Highlight position Setting.
