ST4 - Adding song to playlist - suggestions

Hi Peter,

A few things could be improved when adding songs to playlists imho.

1.
Current function: Tapping the "Filter by" icon turns filtering on/off

Suggestion: if no filters are set, tapping the icon could open the "Filters" menu directly

Benefit: If you don't have any filter set yet, and want to add one, you currently need two taps. If the above is implemented, you would only need one tap.

2.
Current function: When a submenu ("Sort by" or "Insert position") is open, tapping another submenu closes the open one.

Suggestion: tapping another submenu could close the open one and open the one you just tapped

Benefit: You currently need to tap twice on another menu point, if a submenu is open. If the change is implemented, you would only need to tap once.

3.
Current function: When changing a setting in a submenu, the change is saved and the whole menu closes

Suggestion: only close the submenu (expect for "Select All", which has no submenus, so closing the whole menu after tapping is logical)

Benefit: if you want to change all settings (Sort by > Ascending/Descending, Sort by > rule and Insert position > Bottom / Top), you currently need a total of 9 taps, because each time you change a setting, the whole menu closes. If the change is implemented, you would only need 7 taps to change everything. For changing only two setting, it would be 5 taps instead 6

Drawback: if you only need to change one setting, you will need 4 taps instead of 3

+1 - seems redundant turning on Empty Filter and then having to click on the filter to open it and define filters.

Yeah, that is rather annoying if you are constantly using different sets of filters to find song/s to add to a Playlist. In fact, I'd almost argue the case for not having the filter settings as a pop-up menu, but as a pop-out sidebar on the Add Songs window so it can stay open.

That way, you could set some filters/sort, select songs, then immediately change to different filter/sort (because they are already open and accessible), select more songs, etc.

The way it currently works is the same as in Apples app (for example the mail app. The advantage is that the app remembers your last filter setting and with a single tap you can switch between that setting and filters off.

Example: You work with keywords for different projects. Filter is set to only show song from that project. One tap you see all songs, another tap your back in your project songs.

I can't change that behaviour. The menus are components supplied by Apple.

Again, that's how menu items work in the Apple system.
