On tapping the Crossfade, both songs play together- initial song does not fade out

DickyDutch have you set the xfade settings? or did you leave it to zero?

Most likely on an old build. This was fixed yesterday.

The cross fade settings are set to zero and I’m using build 1832

DickyDutch you need to set a fade out time. it doesnt play both songs together but it abruptly ends the first song and starts the next.

EDIT - I can confirm that when set to ZERO both tracks play together

Yes I agree by setting a small fade out time the problem goes away but it isn’t this way with ST3

Yep, can repro.
Build 1832. tested with multitrack songs.

Crossfade left at default in Settings -> Fade Settings -> Crossfade In and Out (i.e. 0.0)
Start playing a song
Hit Crossfade button
Next song starts playing but first song doesn't stop playing
interstingly, I also observed the following.
Hit Stop Button - 2nd song stops but first song continues playing (i.e. it is ignoring Start/Stop).
I had to kill ST4 app to stop audio playback!

Changing Settings -> Fade Settings -> Crossfade In to non-zero but leaving Out at 0.0s - problem still occurs.
Changing Settings -> Fade Settings -> Crossfade Out to non-zero but leaving In at 0.0s - works

So the problem seems to be specifically when the Crossfade Out value is 0
