New beta build 2463

I am focusing on fixing the performance issues in large (>500 items) list views. I think I have significantly improved the song loading times in large views. Unfortunately there is a trade off between making the list views fast and making them fast to switch to. It is not possible to achieve both. So in this update I improved the performance within the Song List. Switching between the different list types might be a bit slower.

Playlist views should already be working OK except if you have more than maybe 300 songs in a playlist. I'm not sure who would want to do that but I will see tomorrow if I can improve the performance in those lists.

In any case: You can significantly improve performance by keeping lists small. If you have more than 1000 songs in your song list, I strongly suggest you use folders to organise your songs and keep the lists small.

Up to 1000 songs the performance should be new fine even on older iPads.

It turned out that the playlist view can't be optimized further. So try to keep the number of songs in a playlist below 300-400 on older devices. Current devices should handle much more without issues.

But I could optimize the song picker. Selecting songs in the song picker is now working smooth even with 2000 items and more.

So I think I could finally fix the reliability of the pinch gesture in the audio regions editor. There is still a visible glitch during the pinch gesture from time to time where the position shifts. But this is an issue with SwiftUI which I can't fix. The only solution would be to rewrite the whole editor with the old UIKit framework which I am not willing to do as this issue is only visible from time to time and corrects itself when you release the pinch gesture.

New beta build 2510 (Release Candidate 1)

Finally, Release Candidate 1 is here. Only minor issues are popping up now that I can easily address in bug fixes when the app has been released. So if nothing serious pops up, I will send the final version next week to Apple for approval.

This version enabled in app purchases and the paywall. Please check that you get an upgrade price (around $15) if you purchased ST3. If you purchased ST3 since laste December, the price should be 0. As always, Testflight purchases don't get billed. Oh and prices might not be final yet.

New beta build 2518 (Release Candidate 2)

A huge thank you to all the beta testers who have been with me over the past 3 1/2 months! Your dedication, detailed feedback, and patience in testing countless builds have been invaluable in shaping Stage Traxx 4 into what it is today. Every bug report, feature suggestion, and real-world test helped me identify issues I might have missed and polish the app for release.

I've now reached the final beta build, which is being submitted to Apple for review. If all goes smoothly, I'm targeting a release date of February 1st. Any new bugs found in this build will be addressed in the first bug fix release, version 4.0.1.

This release wouldn't be what it is without your contributions. Thank you for being such an important part of this journey!

Version 4.0.0 has finally been approved by Apple. Almost everything is now in place for the release. You can expect it tomorrow (most likely) or on Thursday 😃

On Friday I will send version 4.0.1 with the fixes for all issues discovered up until then. So that will most likely be available early next week.

Once version 4.0.0 is released, the beta forum will be closed for new topics. If there are any issues with the release version, please report them in the regular support section or in feature requests.
