Implications of ST4 on recent purchasers of ST3

Hi all - but I guess particularly to Peter.

Firstly thanks EVERYONE for being such a helpful community. For a very new user like myself it’s comforting to be helped over some of the hurdles.

With that in mind I recently purchased ST3 at £24.99. No problem. We wanted to the software. But on doing so I can now see that ST4 is around the corner and I wonder what the pricing / upgrade options are likely to be given I’ve only had it for a couple of weeks and wouldn’t expect to have to buy another version.

About 2 months before release I will reduce the price for ST3 so that after the discounted upgrade to ST4 you will not pay more than directly buying ST4 when it is released. But we are not there yet. I think the release is still about 3 months out.

I think if you just bought a new Mercedes and then they announced a new one coming, would you ask them the same?

I understand you’re a late comer, but I could claim that after supporting Peter for years since the first version and sending him tips from ST3 (I urge eve to do this periodically- he deserves it😁) I also deserve something?

If Peter decides no discount for current users, I’ll pay full price.
If he decides to charge $200 for the app I’ll pay it.
If you had any idea what he does behinds the scene you might have not asked your question 🤓

I have bought a DMX app for way more than ST1,2,3 put together and we are waiting for a simple bug fix now for over 2 years. Nothing. And no communications. To the point that I stopped taking my lights to gigs. I take a simple LED par cans for some lights but not the setup I paid for.

Pay attention, Peter actually answered you. It is more than 95% of developers even bother to do
