Lyrics Train Mode - Feature request

I discovered Stage Traxx 3 only a few days ago and bought it instantly; what a great tool!
I have one request, which would make the product absolutely perfect for me, and many other singers.

Many singers struggle to fully memorize lyrics. When lyrics are always visible, the performer tends to keep reading instead of recalling from memory. This makes them dependent on the screen and slows down the learning process.
However, there are no real good tools to learn lyrics.

But Stage Traxx 3 has all the ingredients: instrumental track, lyrics and timing of the lyrics.
Proposed Feature:
Introduce a “Lyrics Train Mode” where each lyric line is hidden until the exact playback moment has already passed. The performer must sing the line from memory first. Only after that moment (after a second, or when the next line is triggered) the text appears on screen, providing confirmation and reducing anxiety about making mistakes.

This mode actively trains memory recall under realistic timing pressure, instead of passive reading. It helps singers learn faster, gain confidence, and transition away from needing lyrics on stage.

I think this feature would position the app even closer to the artists, as it's their one-stop-shop from learning songs to performing them.

This is a rather unusual request. I can see how it could improve the learning process but Stage Traxx is focused strictly on performance use. During a live performance it could really be embarrassing to show lyrics only after they should have been sung. I'm not convinced that this feature would be used a lot and it would require significant changes to the way lyrics highlighting works.

I agree, but isn’t this possible already , I thought there was a timecode offset setting somewhere, which I could never work out how to use, or simply program your time codes one line late, i wonder if that would improve my memory , somehow I think my hard drive in the brain is too full, old and defragmented 😂

I agree it's not useful during the performance itself, but while preparing as a singer it's crucial.

To Damir's point, you could kinda achieve the same outcome by timestamping the lyric lines and then applying an offset to effectively delay them. It wouldn't be perfect as the offset would apply uniformly to all timestamps and that may not 'work' for the song. Or you manually go through and create offset timestamps for each line/phrase that suits the song, but that would be very time consuming just as a training tool. I did create a tool (shared somewhere here in these forums) that can add/delete a specific time from the timestamps in a ST lyric sheet. This could be used as an in-between step to essentially apply a default offset to all timestamps, and then you could tweak individual timestamps that needed it.

To 'hide' the lyrics I guess you could use a font colour that is the same as your background colour (e.g. black font on black background) and then use lyric highlighting to 'reveal' the lyric line.

Interesting idea, but seems very out of scope of ST and its core function (as per Peter's response) and not something I'd really want to see invested in or included. If you want a lyric training tool for singers, probably best to find a tool that does exactly that.
