TimRyland If I have a playlist of, say, 6 songs. 1 to 6. Is it possible to, for example, skip songs 3 and 5 when I play through the playlist so I would only play songs 1, 2, 4 and 6.
Simply put,NO.
You are wanting to rearrange the playing order on the run.
Which is a common need when on stage.
Queue mode was supposed to make this easy, perhaps try that and see if it suits you more, I don’t use queue because it has other disadvantages so I just use playlist to perform, the only way I can think of is simply use NEXT when you are on song 4 simply select song 6 as the next song and it will jump over song 4,5 with one button push by finger or a two foot clicks to step past 4,5 to song 6 , this gives you last minute chance to skip songs, the other way if you have time go to edit mode and rearrange or remove songs not needed.
Advantage of using NEXT to skip songs is, you can always come back and use those songs later if needed.
I do this a lot as I use 1 playlist for the whole gig, sometimes I jump a large number of songs then come back to the ones I skipped to suit the crowds mood better.
It’s all about pleasing the crowd and being able to easily jump around.
