SEARCH LOGIC improvement needed

Hi Peter , after playing around with search in more detail, i am starting to see what the problem is and why we cant nail a good search result easily.
The sort by selections dont really work because of the search logic in the first place.
If i choose to sort by Title then the logic should be , match my search entry to the title exactly as its entered from the begining of title to the end firstly, if you cant match any results then match the entry to any exact match within the words in the title , if no results found then do a search within the ARTIST column in that same order untill a result is found.
At the moment the sort by function does not seem to work.
I have typed in Big searching for Big Girls Dont Cry the sort by is set to Title , the first results i get are wrong i firstly get Artist results Big Mountain artist which is not what i expect as my search crieteria is TITLE not ARTIST, so something does not add up, its not functioning as it should.
Thats why the first search results are all over the place.
I could go on and on with all the poor logic results but this is a start.
Something needs a small tweak to get it to work as it should, i dont know exactly what but it definitely smells.

How many times do I need to repeat myself? Really, this is the last time I answer to anything search related: It is a full text search. Meaning either a search term is found within title or artist (both are equal), or it isn't found. Only yes and no. There is no "This result is better because it matches the title" because often enough are looking for an artist and not title. With your proposal it would not be possible to search for many artist names because in most cases there would be search hits in the title field.

peter Sorry Peter I can see you don’t understand what I am pointing out to you , it’s not the first time, but that’s fine, I know you have a lot on your plate and I won’t mention it again ,

Isn’t SORT BY meant to choose search by TITLE or ARTIST if not then why have it?
Perhaps we need a NO, SORT BY this behaves like now where everything gets found and presented.
TITLE, where only the title area gets searched.
ARTIST, where only the artist column gets searched.
This would make more sense and better immediate results,
let’s hope ST4 will fix everything, perhaps verbal remote search 😂

Sort by is meant to select how songs should be sorted. That's why it is named sort by. Why would I name it sort by if it should select where you want to search?
