Scrolling issue

I had a strange issue that I have never encountered before. I had a gig last night and during the the playback of the track I would occasionally swipe to move the song lyrics (some songs I haven't time coded yet). Normally when I swipe on the page it will scroll as I swipe but last night the songs were snapping to the beginning of the track no matter what I tried. I have the manual scroll override selected.

It has never happened before and I didn't change any settings that I am aware of.

Could this be a bug? I tried it again today at home and it is working fine so likely restarting the iPad and App fixed the issue - using the most recent version of ST3

I had another user report this issue, but I was never able to reproduce it on my side. If you find a way to reproduce it, please let me know. Checking the code I could not find any obvious bugs. When scrolling override kicks in, the only trigger that would scroll to top is when you change the screen orientation. Maybe your iPad was lying flat and sent rotation events to the app?

peter Hi Peter, My iPad was on the regular mic stand mount at a 45 degree angle as always so I dont think that is the issue. It was strange - It happened even with a lyrics only song - I tried to scroll with my finger and it was jittering and would not let the song advance on the screen. It would bounce back to a fixed position. If you like I can send you my log file to see if there is anything there.

peter I was able to reproduce the issue last night during my gig. It started happening again, I tried a number of troubleshooting steps and was not able to solve the problem. I then slightly adjusted my iPad on the mount to be more vertical and it never happened again. It wasn't flat on the stand but that slight adjustment worked.

Mrjonsong that happened to me once, i always have had the maual scroll overide ON , Peter suggested i turn this on but it was on already so i turned it off and on and havent had this issue since. I dont know if it will happen again or why it went funny but its working as it should for quite a while. Perhaps we should just be aware of it and if it happens to anyone try to note the things we might have done at the time , its not a huge problem.

Damir Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't able to recreate the issue the following day so I might as well toggle that selection to see if it fixes the issue. If it happens again I will try to trace back my steps to see if we can isolate the issue. The only change I made between gigs was updating to the newest version but that is not likely the issue. It was acting as if manual scroll override was not selected but it was in the settings.

So it is indeed caused by the orientation sensor. Very good find. Could you try to enable the orientation lock in iOS? That should take care of it no matter how flat the iPad is positioned.
