How can I stop iCloud from backing the files?

I would like it to only back up the small files involved such as database, settings lyrics etc without messing with the audiofiles.

My cloud account is not big enough to handle my audio files. I would like to add a new song in the main iPad make adjustments to its settings, lyrics, regions etc and then just add the same audio file of the song to the secondary /backups iPad and let the sync take care of the rest. Is this at all possible?

I am very confused with this iCloud backup process and have it turned off so far and manually setting identically each iPad.

What do you mean by iCloud backup? Do you mean the standard backup of your whole iPad or are you referring to the Cloud Sync feature?

I am referring to the syncing via iCloud.

Is it possible to just sync everything but not the audio files?

I am having some trouble getting my mind around this.

The cloud sync feature will always sync everything including your audio files. So if you have a large song library you will most likely need an iCloud subscription.

I guess I will need to continue doing syncing both iPads my self, manually.
