Playlists not transferring when AirDopping from iPad to Macbook

Hi, I’ve transferred (I.e. shared) multiple songs from the iPad to the MacBook. I’m using Air Drop and importing/updating the song and data.

It seems to be transferring everything except the Playlists. I notice there is a difference between the iPad and MacBook Playlists. There are core Playlists that are ticked for each song, however on the MacBook I have a few additional Playlists, and same on the iPad.

I would have thought it would have assigned the Playlists with the same name, and either create the “different” Playlist at the destination location, OR, simply assign it to the Playlists that do exist and not the one that doesn’t.

It seems that is any additional Playlist is assigned (a Playlist that isn’t already listed on both destinations), then it strips the song of ALL Playlists.

Thoughts?

What exactly do you Airdrop from the iPad to your Macbook? A full backup file?

peter gday mate, I’ve transferred each song individually from the iPad to the Macbook (song list -> edit -> select the song -> click on share -> airdrop -> select Macbook. Then on MacBook, Open and update song and data.

Once of did this for all individual songs that were on the iPad (but not on the MacBook prior to the airdrop), I then went and checked each song that they were assigned to the correct Playlists. I created the same Playlists in both machines. I then did a full back up on the Mac Book so I could restore that back up to the IPad (so both machines were identical).

I was doing this as I can’t get any audio out of the iPad at the moment in ST3 (have raised a separate ticket for this issue). I was hoping a full restore onto the iPad would have solved the audio problem. Unfortunately it didn’t.

After the backup was restored on the iPad, I spot checked the Playlists assigned to multiple songs on the iPad and the checked ones seem to be OK. Unfortunately the audio issue was resolved though so I can’t use ST3 at the moment (until I get that issue resolved).

Playlists are not part of song exports. If you want to export a playlist, you can do that from the playlist view.
