  • Multi-Tracks Not Playing When Starting With Pad

I am using an Alesis multi-pad to trigger start/stop on songs. When start multi-track songs
with the pad, the tracks don't play. The button turns red but it doesn't move the waveform. The only way it
will play and move across the waveform is if I push play on my iPad. All the other single-track songs work fine with the pad. Any ideas?

There is no difference when starting stereo or multitrack songs. Does this happen every time? How exactly are your midi commands mapped?

Ok, after playing around some more there is a delay after hitting the pad to the actual tracks (waveform) starting. I edited the tracks and reassigned the new ones with different file names. Could the delay be Stage Traxx searching for the files? There is a 20-second delay before it finally starts.

A 20 second delay? That does not sound right. And only with midi commands? Not when you start it on the iPad? When that happens, please send me your logfiles via Settings > Create Support Email. Write in the email which song at which time had this issue. Maybe I can see something in the logs.

    I first created the backing tracks at a sample rate of 48.0. I recreated the tracks at 44.1 and it seems to have fixed the problem. Could it be ST was converting the 48.0 tracks to 44.1 before playing?

      It depends on what you have set as the internal sample rate in Settings > Playback Settings. Conversion is done in realtime during playback. But you should try to prevent sample rate conversions wherever possible. Select 44 or 48 as your main sample rate and make sure all your tracks and songs use the same rate.
