I am trying to find the most cost-effective way to have multiple backing tracks (with individual mp3 files for different instruments) for my death metal band's DIY shows.
The ideal setup would be to have pre-recorded rhythm guitar, bass, synths and click tracks coming from an iPhone/iPad, and using Stage Traxx, plus an audio interface to route those 4 individual mp3 files to 4 individual outputs on the audio interface, like a Scarlett 4i4. From there, I'd input those 4 outputs into the mixer with the live instruments to
maintain full control of each pre-recorded track, while hiding the click from the audience.
I want to avoid the single-mp3-file method with all instruments panned hard left and click track panned hard right, but I'm also trying to avoid spending $500+ on an piece of dedicated playback hardware like the Track Rig by Loop Community to get the 4 individual instruments on their own output. I have yet to find a dedicated piece of hardware for less than $500 with more than 2 outputs.
I know the Scarlett 4i4 is class compliant, and will work with a modern iPhone, but I'd like to get a better idea of what the output routing options through Stage Traxx would be if the iPhone was connected to a Scarlett 4i4.
Can anyone provide some insight? Can each of the 4 outputs on the Scarlett 4i4 be routed to individual tracks through Stage Traxx?
Would the outputs function as 1/2 stereo output and 3/4 stereo output? This could still be a viable option for me, if I put rhythm guitar, bass and synth on one stereo mp3 (output 1/2) and the click on another stereo mp3 (output 3/4)
Or is this not possible, and I'd only have access to the main 1/2 output via Stage Traxx output routing?
Thanks for your time and consideration.
