Compressor or limiter for master output or each stem?

I've purchased tracks and stems for songs from different sources and sometimes I need to "eye/ear out" their own volume, it's very annoying in live shows since 1 or 2db would make a huge difference. Is there a way to "normalize/limit/light compress" each track so all backing tracks are in the same level strenght? Thanks!

danielalejandro your simplest solution is feed the multitrack output of ST3 to an external mixer that has all the functions you need that also gives you easy control of levels of every track .
ST3 is a Backing PLAYER, what you feed in to it will come out of it with lyrics and chords display.
Mixing your songs live is not its strength , perhaps version 4 but I doubt it, if it did that I would definitely start using multitrack.

A lot of media players have a audio 'normalizer' function that can be enabled that achieves the same desired goal - trying to 'even out' volume variances in backing tracks. Even to the point of analysing a playlist and applying a specific volume normalization. That might be an interesting feature to have in ST.

It's definitely not something I would use as I create my band's backing tracks from scratch and they vary in volume very deliberately depending on the song, and I master them accoringly and do a lot of work in rehearsal to achieve that balance. But I could see people who use ST differently using this type of feature.

Version 4 will have an integrated volume normalisation algorithm that works with perceived loudness. It works quite well on full stereo mixes (similar to ReplayGain which you already can use by making use of external tools like Foobar2000). But it does not work at all on separate stems or tracks. In multitrack songs, the tracks are not meant to be played at the same volume. If you normalise single tracks to all have the same volume, the mix will sound absolutely horrible.
