Timer marker jumps down the page in edit lyrics section

Hi all,

I recently posted about difficulties with pasting lyrics into the app and then setting up the scrolling. These have been resolved thanks to help from the forum which is appreciated.

I still have a slight problem, when I paste the lyrics into the editor The idea is that you press return and the timing marker jumps to the next line, and so on. This works most times but recently the cursor seems to jump three or four lines down on the page and end up in the wrong place completely. I wonder if this is a problem with the formatting from the Internet when I go to lyrics sites and copy it? Or is there something else I should be doing. It’s extremely frustrating and takes forever to do it without the automatic jump to the next line which is a great feature

richie2uk I have experienced exactly the same thing for ages now , the way I fix it is I load the text in to a text editor first and clear all formatting, this seems to fix it although it’s a pain in the arse, perhaps Peter might have a solution where all imported text get to be cleared of this unusual formatting so we can get a reliable line jump every time no matter where we get the text from.

Also the other slow fix is, select the beginning of the culprit line hit delete, which jumps up one line that hit enter which gets you back to normal , this seems to eliminate the jump, but you need to do it for every damn offending line which is also another pain in the arse.

What text editor do you use?

So paste into notepad and then copy and paste back into stagetraxx editor? That gets rid of formatting?

richie2uk from memory, paste to notepad, select all, right mouse click, select font, clear styles.
Then copy and paste to ST3 Lyrics editor.
I am no expert in this unnecessary shit we have to go through, others might be more aware of what the hell is going on.
But I do sympathise with you because I've been putting up with this problem for years , every so often depending on which website I copy from this happens , in this day and age this should not be happening.

This is usually a problem with exotic line endings. Since the dawn of computing no one could agree on a universal line ending character. Some use carriage return, some use new line, some use any combination of those two. Stage Traxx tries to unify this when importing and pasting text. But it looks like that does not always work.
