Unless I've overlooked something, I cannot find any way of changing song names in ST.
Does this exist or is it a possible function in next version ?
I want to add (for example) "TANGO" to all my (guess what ?!) Tango songs.

    Or you could create a Tango playlist if that would work.

      Bazz02 "for example".... because it's not only styles but adding the pitch (C# etc) to songs that have several versions. Loads of other reasons ;-)

        Song names can only be changed by editing the title tag in the audio file.

        What you try to achieve will be possible in version 3.1 with the upcoming tagging system.

          Peter, perhaps you could include an option to show the id3 tag for the comments field underneath the title for people who want more information? It would need to be an option though as it would be a pain for me and I’d guess many others to have on the screen at all times and lose more screen space..

          Or perhaps a slide option on each song to choose what is displayed in the title at the top, song name or the conmments.

          That may be useful to many I guess. Just a suggestion.

          Personally I just put an extra line at the top of my lyric sheet which can of course be done from within ST3

          Maybe the upcoming tagging feature would be more useful for you.

          The problem with the comments tag is that it has basically no length restriction. It's in that regard quite similar to the lyrics field. Having a single line field display the contents would not help very much and it would also not be feasible to display it in the song list.

          Sorry if this question has been asked before, but after an hour or so searching ... I just thought I'd ask. Could you please explain to me how to "edit the title tag in the audio file" as every time I export songs they revert to their original file name.

              peter i am looking forward to the new system as i could never understand to why we have two song name areas, i expect to be able to change my song name and that to reflect everywhere if exporting, looking at ST3 folder or wherever, just one song filename thats simple to edit.

                I export the song to TWISTED WAVE edit the title there and import it back to ST3 copy over the lyrics data and enter again my playlists and filter information, then delete the original.
                THIS IS A PAINFUL PROCESS , but i havent found a better way so most of my actual song file titles a poorely labeled but i change them in Song Information TITLE this is ok if you just use the file in ST3 but sucks when you export the files to other software, so i am hoping the new updates will just keep the file name to be the song name as well, so the users stick with one naming option that keeps both in sync. This would reduce confusion and simlify things to the users.

                  d2rsandy Don't confuse the filename with the song title. If your file has no title tag embedded, ST3 will use the filename as the song title. You can change that in song details but this will not change the filename! It will only change the title displayed in Stage Traxx.

                  Bottom line: You can not change the name of a file in Stage Traxx.
