richie2uk Thanks both. I think perhaps I’m deleting a song and replacing it rather than simply overwriting the audio file? How do I overwrite rather than delete and start again? This would presumably delete the lyrics too
This is what i do to simply tweak and replace a stereo song.
I go to settings and click on Show ST3 files, this opens up the ST3 folder on my iPad, i then find the song and long press on it to open the menu that gives me share option , i then share this file using Aidrop to my iMac and edit it there, then i export this new version to the iMac desktop where it is easy to find, then i do the reverse , i share back to the iPad to downloads folder, then i just share this file back to ST3 folder making sure it replaces the old file , be careful that the name of the song file remains identical, then i open up ST3 and refresh the database to make sure its updated, you do this by pulling down the screen in Song mode.
Now you have the new version of the song and all its old data will remain , which might be all ok to use if you haven't changed the tempo or rearranged the arrangement of the song , if you did do that, then simply delete the timecode in the lyrics editor, cut and paste your lyrics to suit, and time stamp the song again to suit.
