Do you have iCloud Sync enabled? If yes, at what point did you enable it? Because if it was enabled and you deleted your songs, that would also delete them on all other devices.
Also make sure your backup file is the same size after Airdropping it as on the source iPad. Maybe the Airdrop transfer aborted after the File was only partially transferred.
