I have an old ipad that I would prefer to use on stage.
Stage Traxx 3 works perfectly on my iPad Pro and MacBook, with a Behringer UMC204HD audio interface, but the old iPad will not recognise the interface.
Latest iOS for the old ipad is 12.5.7 (and therefore will not load the latest version of ST3)
It plays ok but I can't route anything through the interface. In ST3 Audio routing settings, the only option is Internal speaker, or if headphones connected only option is Headphones. Selecting the option to combine USB and Headphone outputs makes no difference.

Anybody have any Multitrack success with an old iPad? Any suggestions welcome, thanks.

Just to add to the above, I'm using a powered Apple Lightning to USB adapter for the iPad/Interface connection.

You need to use a powered usb hub for that interface. The lightning port does not provide enough power for the interface.

Thanks Peter, I'll get one and try again.

Elox i also have a really old ipad that works perfectly fine, but it wont let me install this app... i wish i could.

You can find it in the Your purchases section of the App Store. Of course you need to have at least one device where you can initially download the app. After that you can reinstall it on older devices.

Hi Peter, success with the hub - ipad now shows available routing to the interface. Unfortunately the app crashes at the end of a song, or if I select a different song. I only have three songs loaded, there is 20gb plus space on the iPad.
    Stage Traxx 3 version 3.6.7
    Any suggestions?

Further to above, it seems to be just one song causing the crash. I'll delete and rework. Will update later, thanks.

Presume it was a corrupt file in the one song. All ok now and very happy, thanks Peter.

For Info that may help others:

To clarify, the crash mentioned above only happened on the old iPad. The reason for the crash was not a corrupt file, but the song contained audio on more than six tracks, and eight track multitracking was not available on Stage Traxx version 3.6.7

Oh, good find. The old version can read the new file format for stsa files, but can not handle all the features in the new format. I guess that's better than not being able to read the files at all.
