Problem with airdropping back-up

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can help.

I am having trouble airdropping my backup from my iPad to my phone. I am conscious that my iPad is getting old and so I really want to be able to access my stagetraxx from another device however i try and airdrop it and every time it fails and I have no idea why - I have enough storage etc. Has anyone else had this or know an alternative way around this? Thanks in advance

SarajayneH update your operating system and shut down and restart your devices.
OR use a USB stick to transfer your file.
Lastly use your IMac as a a go between and use a cable to the Mac if you have a Laptop or a desk top computer.
Airdrop works perfectly for me with a 22gb full backup older iPad Pro and a 9th gen iPad and an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Sometimes Airdrop does not work reliably. My experience is that it works quite well if both devices are in the same wifi network but it often fails when in public spaces with or without a public wifi.

You can fallback to iTunes filesharing. That does always work.
