deanrichard having any sense of control in a gig especially if it’s pubs/bars/clubs is just an illusion. I had an idiot spray beer onto the stage from 10m away. I had drunks, or just ppl having a good time dancing in front of me, trip, fall, grab onto anything they can while they fall and I had just assholes mess with my gear, even steal my mic from the stand.
Unless you’re behind some glass in an old age home full of bed ridden people you have absolutely no control, I don’t know how many years you’ve been doing this, but me, after almost 4 decades on stage and over 15k gigs from 3 drunks to 50000 people in front, still don’t think I’ve seen it all yet 😆
Two drops of beer onto your laptop keyboard and that Mac/PC is dead in many cases. Even an old iPad will take more than just a splash, even a fall etc. and also way more stable and solid performance wise, unless faulty, or crap app, no or little crashes, need to reboot etc. more than half my need to have a device on stage career I’ve done with a laptop and I cannot be more grateful and happy that iPads took over.
That’s just me. Unless I absolutely have to have a Mac on stage for anything I’d prefer an iPad.
Your setup will definitely be easier and faster with ST3 😊 power point was not designed to do what you’re doing with it, but kudos for thinking out the box with it 👍🏻
