Hi Peter - I have been adding midi commands at the top of my lyrics so that Stagetraxx loads program changes on my Yamaha MODX for each new song eg. [midi: PC107@1] This works, except each time I set the program change number (eg 107 as in above example) it loads program 108. So to get it to load program 107 on the MODX I have to give a command of [midi: PC106@1] Is this normal?

I see from your videos that you have a MODX so hopefully you'll know whats going on!

Thanks in advance - Ian

WildOwl some midi devices work with midi messages from 0-127 and others 1-128. Sounds like yours is the former.

Thank you Lishy - so if I just work around it by going one number lower will that remain consistent going forward? (ie. Don't want it randomly loading a wrong song during a gig)

Yes, it will stay consistent. Unfortunately the midi standard does not enforce all devices to start numbering with 0 or 1. So every manufacturer uses whatever they like. Having said that, once you know with which value numbering starts on a device, it will stay that way for this device.

peter Thats lovely - thank you Peter and thank you for producing such an amazing product and supporting people like me - it is very much appreciated.

Hey WildOwl, I was just wondering if you might be able to help out. I too was having the same issue about 12 months ago, and was using a midi cable I had borrowed.
I gave up however decided to buy a cable and have another go. I now am getting no midi signal at all. I am using an iPad Pro, and a usb A cable to 5 pin midi in/out cable:

      1. I’m going usb A out from the iPad to the midi out side of the cable, to midi in on the modx. Is this correct?
      2. Do I have to set something in the modx7 to receive the midi signal or command?

      Thanks in advance.

The MODX has a usb port that you could use directly. That would have the advantage that all audio would also run through the MODX. And as you have a dedicated volume knob for the usb audio signal, I think that is a great solution if you only need stereo playback.

Apart from that keep in mind that you need to select whether the MODX receives midi commands from USB or the Midi port.
