What does "Trigger Selected Track" do?

I'm trying to add some midi from an MC6 Pro to navigate between songs.

I have actions assigned to Next/Prev track, and I can see the "NEXT SONG" moving around. I assumed that "Trigger Selected Song" would stop playing and set that as the current song. But it seemingly doesn't do anything?

Also not sure if I should be using this or "Jump to Next Song in Queue"

That's only needed if you use advanced queue mode to add a song to the queue or when you are in the list of playlists and want to enter a playlist.

In that case, how do I select a song in the list and play it? I'm not using advanced queue mode.

With "Next Song" and "Previous Song" and "Start Playback".

peter ok that works if I'm not playing anything. I can select the song w/ my feet and press play. Once the song is playing, navigating next/prev song moves the "Next Song" selection around. That's what I want to advance to when I hit a certain button. Start Playback will resume the current song, I'm not sure how to get it to move to whatever is selected as "Next"

🤦 oh this is what "Trigger Selected Track" does. Must not have been working before, but now it is!

So you want to stop playback of the current track and immediately play the next track? Use the Crossfade action.
