Hi Peter, i was wondering if in new version 4 you could add a X fade feature if feasable and if others think they might find useful , when you choose your next song by selecting it, it acts as it does now but if you reselect this next song the second touch of the file changes the waveform to that next song and so allows you to select a loop you want to X Fade within this next song, selecting this next song again changes the waveform back to the now playing song,so a bit like a togle switch between the two songs, which also highlights the name of the song thats active and chances to the apropriate waveform so you are aware of what song you are on, if you then change to a different next song everything is canceled and the new next song is selected , if you press it again you get to choose a loop you want to XFADE to in the new next song, with a second touch of the next song again next song gets highlighted to indicate the waveform and loops belong to the next song,
This creates a great flexible environment to move from song to song but also the choice of which part of the next song you need to continue the vibe , instead of using the intros by default.
There might be others that might think of a better way or a slightly different method but the idea is to be able to manouvre to the next song with more freedom to keep the live feeling going, the loops are a fantastic addition but now we need to make them really work for us easily on stage, i am hoping V4 will concentrate on the flexability on stage more that having numerous features that only a few of us need
Cheers Damir.

I would be highly interested in this. Being able to do that will be definitely a useful feature for someone using this to play live music with audience. I have been, sort of, navigating this by creating a lot of copies of the song with different versions. ( With intro and without intro etc)

This is not so much a technical problem but a user interface problem. What Damir proposes sounds highly complex and I can already envision lots of support requests from users that complain that the wrong song is playing. So while I think it might be a good idea to be able to select at which position to crossfade into a song. The proposed approach is a firm "no" from my end.

peter if it’s technically possible and not a big deal then I think my approach is the simplest to use with what we have at the moment, it’s quite easy to choose the next song at the moment and can be done by foot while performing as a solo performer but if I am using ST3 in a DJ role where I have my hands on the iPad at all times , I am limited to what I can do to progress to the next song, the energy level on the dance floor is high and I want to Xfade to continue this high level but the only option is a low energy intro, that’s a mood killer, so my proposal is to give us a way and freedom to continue the mood, and the simplest way is to just select the next song by touching it the second time to select its waveform choose the appropriate loop and hit Xfade , if anyone can think of a simpler or faster way I’m all for it, but the main reason for asking for this ability is to have the freedom to keep the show flowing on the run and not be fixed to a pre programmed sequence. This would also help those that use st3 as a lyrics only device as you could simply go to a specific lyric point of another song with ease, or if you are using ST3 as a drum machine , you can change the beat to the exact beat you need when merging songs together etc etc.

I too find Damir's way easy and straight forward.

Currently while a song is playing if you press on a yellow next song nothing happens. If you double click it the same. So this seems to be unused access and very natural. You click the next song it loads up. Lyrics are in front of you, chords, the waveform etc. this could be a feature that needs to be activated in the settings with the appropriate explanation on the side.
