MIDI Programming (Sending PC Change to Boss RC600)

Hi, thanks for taking the time. I'm in your MIDI programming guide and I understand the Stage Traxx 3 syntax for writing MIDI into the lyric sheet, but Boss/Roland is pretty notorious for not explaining things well, so I could use a little firestarter to my project.

Could you help me with the proper syntax to write a Program Change from Stage Traxx TO a Boss RC600.

So say I want to load Song A and the RC600's Memory Slot is stored at 1.

Then I load song B and the RC600's Memory Slot is stored at 50. etc

If I can see how those parameters are written it will help me better understand how to write my own codes moving forward.

Just for added reference, I am using an M-Audio USBtoMIDI UnoSport on an iPad with a lightning to usb adapter and Stage Traxx 3 sees the UnoSport just fine.

So which midi commands do you need to send to select slot 1 or slot 50?

I'll be writing codes into the lyric sheets to basically fill up all 100 RC600 memory slots, but once I see how your MIDI syntax talks to the RC600 for the PC change, I can write them all in.

I got it. it's just simply [midi pc(memory-1)@2] (I set my RC600 to ch2)

The RC600 starts its memory banks at 01, so calling up memory 1 is pc000, just in case anyone asks in the future.

Now my challenge is getting the RC600 to understand the tempo set in the ST3 Info.

That tempo is sent via midi clock if you have enabled that option in Settings. But keep in mind: the clock generation is not very reliable. The tempo can vary a bit.
