Sidecar for iOS.

I currently have my Mac computer hooked up to a digital mixer which is connected to ST. This setup is to run our multi track backing tracks.

I understand Mac has released a feature called “sidecar” where you can control your Mac from an iPad. Has anyone used this feature with success? I really want to avoid running a long dongle from my iPad on stage to the mixer.

I ask this b/c you need an iPad 6th gen or newer. My current IPad is too old to support that function. Knowing from others would save me money not buying one or justifying the purchase if it does.

Sidecar works good in a home or office environment. I don't know how well it performs in a crowded venue. You would certainly need a powerful wifi network and I'm not sure if there is a maximum distance between MacBook and iPad to use sidecar.

can you not just use a separate wireless or hard connect router like i do for connecting my 2 ipads together on stage and anything else you want to talk to each other on WiFi and no interference

davedroug Ya that would be a better option. I wasn’t aware you can connect multiple devices on a local wifi network with Stagetraxx.

I got an old Apple AirPort Express I could use. Is there a job aid or a YouTube video that shows how to set this up?
