Slave iPad not transmitting play/stop data

Hi Peter, would there be any reason why an iPad slaved to a host, is unable to transmit particular types of midi data? So far I’ve discovered midi commands attached to ‘play’, ‘stop’ or ‘playback ends’ don’t seem to work on the slave iPad. Also manually writing these into the lyrics doesn’t work either, although using a timestamp does work. I’d like this to work so I can turn reverbs on when a song starts, and off when the song stops or ends. Any ideas?

Yes, that's because these commands are only sent when the start / stop button is used. That's naturally not the case on a slave iPad. See here: https://stagetraxx.com/user-guide/settings/#send-midi

Only way to do what you want is with timestamped midi commands at the beginning and end of a song. Maybe also add the command to disable reverb as one of the MIDI actions and then you can show them as assignable buttons or remote control via pedal.

So would only the play and stop commands not work on the slave iPad? What about ‘Load’ and ‘Playback Ends’, would they work on the slave seeing they are not linked to buttons?
