help with backup question

Backing up question.
My wife is joining a session with me and she plays bass, so she wants sheet music to show on her iPad. I have set her iPad to run a pdf sheet music file while we play the song. Great. But now I'm wondering about backup and restore? I am the one doing the programming and adding new songs midi commands etc. I do a full backup and than send it to her and she restores it. But I don't have the pdf sheet music on my stagetraxx 3. (only she does). So the next time I do a backup and she restores it, Won't she lose her pdf setting? Seems like a problem,,, Any help with this/. thanks.

You are right. Restoring your backup will erase all her pdfs.

You can create a song export file only for new songs. Or if all she cares about are the sheets you could just create lyrics only songs with the pdf files. No need to keep those updated.

Sorry Peter, Im not quite understanding. So you mean make a lyric only pdf with her sheet music in it. But that means this song can only be on here iPad correct? Not mine or anyone else in the band, So when she joins the session she will be the only one who see's the pdf sheet music. So is there a way to Protect this file on her iPad the next time I send an updated backup for her to restore?

Your assumptions are correct.

And when you restore a backup it will always replace all data on a device. If you want to merge new songs with existing songs, use the song export function. When opening exported songs, you will be asked whether you want to keep a local version of that song or replace it with the one from the new file.
