Has anyone tried sending midi patch changes to a boss Gigcaster. It seems to do everything I want as a solo guitarist vocalist, provided I can get to change effects patches via midi from stage Traxx 3. In the promo blurb it says that it can be done but I can’t find any detailed instructions on how to do it. In the manual it tells you how to change the midi receive channel so that’s a start I suppose.

I emailed Boss Support and they said the GC8 cannot receive MIDI calls. One member of the GC8 group discovered it can receive SysEx commands but ST3 doesn’t send them. A few of us asked about this.

It's already a year gone by, but I'll write down my solution.
I'm currently controlling a BOSS Gigcaster (which only "talks" SysEx) from StageTraxx on my iPad.
In StageTraxx I have configured sending CC-Messages.

; CC66 = Vocal FX = U002 HALL
[midi@00:01.00: CC66.0@1]in the background on my iPad the App MidiFlow with the (paid) AddOn for "Controller Remapping" is running. There I configured, the substitution of the CC-Messages to SysEx messages that go to the Gigcaster. So far it works.

Does the gigcaster fader send cc messages and sysex upon changing position? because the only thing that seems to be send cc messages on pad presses.
