Sending Midi Note Change Format

I am using a software-based MIDI to DMX conversion program called DMXIS. The manual states:
"Bank/Preset control: DMXIS listens for “Note ON” messages on MIDI channels 15/16, and uses these to switch banks & presets. For example, sending MIDI Note 1 (i.e. the lowest MIDI note possible) on Channel 15 would load the 1st bank, and sending MIDI Note 6 on Channel 16 would load the 6th preset in the current bank."

So I am therefore trying to send a midi note change command from Stage Traxx 3 to DMXIS. What is the proper format for sending "Note ON" messages in stage traxx? I have tried "[midi@play: N6@15]" and "[midi@play: NN6@15]" for sending Midi Note 6 on channel 15 but neither seems to work.

You could try adding a velocity value. So for maximum velocity you could write N6.127@15.

You can debug these commands in the lyrics editor by placing the cursor within the tags and using "Send MIDI" in the context menu.

NOTE HOWEVER that I had entered [midi@play: n6.127@15] and the context menu does not offer the "Send Midi" option unless I delete the @play. If not intentional it might be an opportunity for later enhancement.

Interesting. I think you found a bug. I will fix that in version 3.8.8.

I work for a large software firm. We shy away from the "B" word and prefer to say "opportunity for later enhancement." Glad I was able to contribute. Very cool software and going to be a game-changer for how we do things.
