Hallo Peter, Hi Forum Members,
I am Rob from Germany. I know you are German two, but I write in English as this Forum is held for English speakers. Is it possible for Stage Traxx 3 to put out a Lyrics View to a TV or Beamer for the Audience without Chords and with Background Options? Greetings from the Ruhrgebiet. P.S.; I think this should be in the topic "General" and not Support. But I cannot change the topic...

I think the support tag is fine for this question. Yes, you can show lyrics without chords on an external screen (on iOS). But you can not choose a background. It will just be black or white (depending on the dark mode setting).

To hide chords, activate this setting: https://stagetraxx.com/user-guide/settings/#hide-chords

And make sure to enable this: https://stagetraxx.com/user-guide/settings/#lyrics-on-external-screen-ios-only

But this also hides the chords on the device, is there a way to disable chords only on the external screen but keep the chords on the device?

Ok, thats great, thank you for the fast answer. After using Onsong for a long time there are more and more bugs in the app. And I have to pay monthly. I switch to Stage Traxx 3 now and give it a try after reading so many good critics about your App. And also some very good reviews on Youtube...

Oh Damir thats a good question. I need to see the chords on my Ipad while the chords on the external screen are hidden...

No, the lyrics on an external screen are always displayed in the same style as selected on the iPad. You can always use a dedicated iPad for this functionality that connects as a network client to your main iPad and has all settings tailored for the external display.

This is great to know , for one big reason, you can place your second device near the audience video device and have a short video connection plus you could use a smaller device like iphone with a hdmi out to connect to projector which is away from your main device, this is actually a big advantage as you cant realy have long hdmi connection to other devices that might be a reasonable distance away plus you dont have extra ugly and inconvenient connectors on your main device which are in front of your audiences eyes.
So as long as you can turn off the chords on the second device you are set to go .
I will have to try this myself as i have a venue that has a projection screen all ready to go i just need to feed it an input from my Iphone, theres just another reason we still need the Iphone version of ST3.

peter I would have no issues paying for a couple of licences (host + client) and have the client display the lyrics to an external display without the chords, while keeping the chords on my host as I need it. My only issue is introducing a point of failure, generally I play by myself and during a live gig it can be very challenging to troubleshoot any type of connectivity issues that may happen with the host + hotspot + client Wi-Fi connection. Having worked with ipad for a while we all know how iPadOS can sometimes simply not work. Would prefer to use only a single ipad hard wired to a projector to avoid such issues.

Is this something that will never be addressed for ST3? I'm loving the App so far and started creating a few sessions, but when I connected my projector to test it out this became a major deal breaker.

Thanks for your answer. For my understanding: On my main Ipad I activate chords and on a 2. Ipad device which is connected as a network client I can stream the lyrics on an external screen without Chords, right?

Yes, that's right.

Good news: as I received quite a lot requests for disabling chords on an external display lately, I have decided to add that option in the next update in early April.

I often add some time-stamped informations within my lyrics, like a countdown "Intro 4..3...2...1" or "solo 4..3...2...1". Is there a way to hide them on an external screen, like the chords (which are in brackets)?

No, there is no tag to hide certain lyrics parts only on the external screen. You can use the comment tag to hide it everywhere though.
