Thinking about Text only users,
Only two song creation type STEREO AND MULTITRACK, both to have TEXT ONLY CAPABILITY so if you choose to create a STEREO file you can easily create the same song in MULTITRACK the LYRICS are easily available to both and can be created in either mode .
To create a lyrics only file you need to either create a blank STEREO OR MULTITRACK file and enter your lyrics, once you have the lyrics entered you can simply choose to create the other type of file and the lyrics are also immediately created for you.
This makes creating song types easy.
Once you have a blank song created of the type you choose you can create a length of time of this song if no audio is loaded a silent audio track is created so you can time stamp the lyrics only track , if you use this method to time stamp the loops are created automatically, so if you hit play and sing through the song once you end the verse you hit timestamp and this then creates a loop point at the same time as you do your solo when you finish hit timestamp again this then finishes the solo section and so on till the end of the song once you have done your timecode stamping and see the final time of song just change the length of the silent track to suit , name your loop sections and you are done, now you have the capability to hit play and let the auto scroll work to time or you can jus hit next loop to go to any section of song you desire it basically behaves like the STEREO tracks behave now , it also allows you to foot scroll smoothly through your song , so you have number of ways to get your text displayed easily , and the creating process is fast , if you choose to use an audio track than the timecode entering behaviour changes the loops need to be created as it is now.
One thing I would add to the system when time coding, and that is the play button and time code entering is foot controllable so as you sing through and play guitar you can enter the timecode by foot.
Quick 3 taps gets you to beginning of song a single tap pauses and plays the song two taps erases the last take and starts from last stop, this creates a fast workflow.
The idea is everything works together and for you to complete a song you can perform with no matter which way you perform the LYRICS ONLY users have been neglected a bit as a stereo user I am reasonably happy apart from minor editor issues multi-trackers are doing things tough as well because of the time and effort it takes to get things from the DAW TO ST3 so hopefully V4 will fix some of these issues, for how I operate at the moment I am reasonably happy.
Good luck with ST4
