Sharing Songs/Play lists with band members

I need to share our band's playlist with members to rehearse with prior to performance but don't want them to "own"
these files they could take away to use with other bands. Is there a way to keep my files and playlists protected from this?

Only way to do that would be to use the network feature. But that only works when all members are in the same place.

If you send them files they can do with them whatever they want.

peter Thanks Peter, maybe an idea for a future upgrade? To have some kind of security restriction from the host? Otherwise, once band members have all the tracks I created or downloaded, they can take those and go start competing bands with all my work.

Also, did I read that a network does not have to be active, but band members can all still use the same one? In other words, if they were all connected at the rehearsal studio where Wifi is active, but then we played a gig where there was no wifi, can we still connect to each other with the same (inactive) network?

The song name and the artist name have to be the same on your device and on other band members devices. They could have use just Lyrics File type (single mp3 or multitrack will work too) and if setting “Show local lyrics “ is on they will see their lyrics when joining host. Don’t forget to put correct song length in the Lyrics only file settings (for auto scroll).
Usually I make 8 tracks multitrack songs for my band. But for my band members I am exporting single MIX file (click+cue+instrumental) so they can practice and put correct time codes in to the lyrics. But click and cues are backed in. So this files are for practice and programming only.

I don't see how I could do that as the files are plainly accessible from the Files app. So the suggestion from @SignalProducer is the only way to prevent your audio files from being copied.

Regarding the network feature: yes it will work without a wifi network but it will be very unstable once there are some people in the room and you will get constant dropouts. Bring your own wifi access point if you want to use this feature.
