Tab and inline chords

Really enjoy the app. Has never crashed on me, and there are a lot of great features that make my playing more enjoyable. I am a convert from a competitor which was buggy and bloated with way too many options. But there were a couple settings that I found really helpful. So heres my wishlist for a future update :-)

Display chords inline with lyrics, just like we enter them in edit mode, instead of a separate line above.

Have a fixed font code like {fixed} which would allow entering tablature within lyrics. Right now the work around is having universal fixed font which looks kind of bad. Or I guess pasting an image of the tab but you can’t edit that.

I do see an option for highlighting cords, but mine are not highlighted during playback. Insignificant when chords are on a separate line, but if they ever are able to be put inline, it’s a nice touch.

pt6 I put tablature in my music all the time so what do you mean by the universal fixed font looks bad?

Fixed width font block is an interesting idea and should be possible with the layout engine I built. I will make a note for version 4.

Inline chords are not possible with highlighting due to the way layout and highlight work together. It is not possible to highlight chords within the same line as regular lyrics.

And what do you mean by your chords are not highlighted? In the above screenshot, the chords are highlighted.

Great! Hope to see the {fixed} as an upcoming feature!

My interpretation of chord highlighting was different based on the old app I was using. Examples below. Do you think in-line chords will ever be a possibility? Tightens everything up and makes it easier to read IMO.

You could already achieve that with using the color tag, but you will not get automatic transposition that way.

With the current layout and highlighting engine inline chords are not possible. It would require a whole new approach to rendering lyrics.

Lishy Fixed works for tab obviously but lines of text aren’t as “easy on the eyes” as lines with variable width font. Like most things are formatted, like this forum board. See below examples. Just a common preference.
