Hi Peter, i was about to load v3.8 from 3.7.5 so before anything i thought i would do a full backup just in case , although i have a full backup already i made not long ago and nothing has really changed, my earlier backup was around 21 gb but as the new backup completed and i saved it side by side with the old i noticed it was around 17gb , luckily i checked these figures as it did not make sense , so then i did another full backup, the process was exactly the same , no interruptions the spinning wheel appeared and went through its usual visual display of time left but this time i actually got my full 21gb backup this time, this is concerning as if i didn't check the sizes and if i then deleted my older backup i would have lost around 4gb of data, i have noticed this problem a number of times in the past where you don't always end up with a true full backup, has anyone else noticed this irregular problem with full backups?
Feedback regarding full backup notification box, once you choose a Full Backup you get a nice time wheel and a notice Creating Backup, to me that notification is not as helpful as if it said FULL BACKUP we know its been created as the round wheel is showing the progress so this creating word is a suck egg information , i would rather be notified if i am actually creating a FULL BACKUP or DATABASE BACKUP this is more important to know as the full backup can take quite a while as you walk away and come back you are reminded exactly what is going on.
The other thing i would add to this box is CANCLE so you can stop the process which can take some time to complete and sometimes you start the process and then discover you need to move on to do other things but you are now stuffed as things cant be immediately stopped and you might create a corrupted backup by trying to put the device to sleep with poor batteries and you are walking away from a permanent power supply.
Looking forward to testing 3.8 on stage.
Cheers Damir
