  • Adding Songs to my playlist changes the key signature of every song - HELP!

Hi All,
I have been uploading songs to my iPad - 16.6 the latest update.
Each time I add a song, it plays it in a different key signature to the original, usually a lower key.
If I try to change the pitch in the 'pitch and speed area', the song sounds wrong and distorted, because it is clearly not the original.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue of putting a song in and keeping it at the original key signature?
This is seriously doing my head in.

Hm, never heard about an issue like that and can not imagine what could cause this in Stage Traxx. What file format are you using for your files? Which samplerate are they in?

I am using regular MP3’s. Some of these are from karaoke version. I download them to my desktop iMac and then import them through airdrop.
I have a few tracks I am doing with an origin and, with a female singer, and the key has dropped a couple of tone to where she sounds like a male vocalist.
I also had this trouble with tracks from Karaoke version with another band - I had downloaded them in the right key, but they changed when putting them into Stage Traxx3. Really weird. It means I have to go through all of my tracks to make sure the keys are right before rehearsal.
Meanwhile, I love Stage Traxx 3 in general and having the option of words and chords added. It’s a brilliant app. Just this one glitch is a problem.

    Once you downloaded songs to iMac do the songs sound ok on iMac player or other software?
    Are you running the latest ST3 software?
    Can you import these songs on IMac ST3 and do they play in correct key?
    Try loading the song in to a daw make sure you are happy with it then save it through the DAW then load it to ipad and see if the key changes.
    This problem is weird i really am interested to what the problem is.
    When you download from karaoke version website have you changed key to suit you or have you just downloaded it in the websites default key, i normally download everything in original settings and edit in my own DAW i find it is better end result.

        Do you maybe have a master effect active that changes the pitch?

          peter Where would I find that Peter? There is something that is changing each of the tracks - I have to go through all of the tracks as none of them are in the actual key that they are meant to be in - so that might be what I'm looking for.

            Damir Thanks Damir, yes, the songs only change when I upload them to Stage Traxx3
            I tried running one track through GarageBand, bounced it at the key I wanted and it again changed when I put it into ST3.
            In Karaoke Version I have changed some of the keys - but when I play them on my iMac or MacBook Pro, they are the same as when I downloaded them - but in ST3 the mystery continues....

                You can find it in Settings > Master Effect. Maybe send one of the files to support@stagetraxx.com and write which key you expect the file to be and I will try to reproduce the issue with your file.

                Natillyb perhaps try uninstalling the App and reinstalling the latest version , it might repair the corrupted behaviour.
