Spaces between Chords

When chords are used that don't have lyrics to space them apart they are joined together in the play view how do I space chords that don't have lyrics ?

If you have whole lines consisting only of chords, do not write the chords in square brackets. Then spaces between the chords are kept in the layout.

Could this be made an option to always add at least one space between chords? It is tiresome to manually correct this every time we take the lyrics from a site like ultimate guitar convert it to chordpro and import into stagetraxx. e.g: [Am][B7][C] will show in Stagetraxx as AmB7C instead of Am B7 C.

I know we can manually fix this by changing it to [Am B7 C] and it will then show as Am B7 C but i cant think of a good reason stagetraxx could not ensure there was at least one space between the chords. Please consider adding this as an option to stagetraxx "minimum one space between chords". This will greatly reduce the time to import lyrics into stagetraxx.

I am a recent user to stagetraxx 3 and am loving it.

Issue:
Some numbers and words are being recognized as chords:

visual count-ins like 1 2 3 4 (or any number containing the digits 1 to 7)
text like "Aah", "Cab", "Ache" etc. < so any character string that starts with a letter that's also a chord and contains 1 or more other letters that are also chords

Impact:

when hiding chords, the above is all hidden too
when transposing, everything except the numbers also get "transposed", so if you have -1, "Ache" would show up as "AbBBbEb" 🙂

Suggestions (other than replacing the editor)

Only recognize chords that are in brackets
Add a way to "tell" the editor to insert spacing after a chord (ie. a special character after the chord). This could then trigger a "Tab" (works better in my experience than "Space")

I know this will make everyone having songs with chords only which aren't in brackets freak out, but maybe there could be an option to automatically convert these by the editor and add the brackets and special character for spacing.

Not a big issue for me, since I don't use chords and transposition in my songs, but it could be an annoying issue in some scenarios.

san9jay If you have lines containing only chords leave the brackets. Just write the chords and it will honor spacing between them.

musicadi Don't hijack threads please. Create a new thread but not for this because it is not possible to implement. After layouting lyrics there are no more brackets. So the app can not use them to identify chords for highlighting.

This was knowingly changed and is to do with the Nashville chord system that use numbers.

Also I’d avoid writing repetitive posts. He’s already seen it and marked it as a feature request.

I disagree with only having chords recognised that are in brackets as this will affect those that have them where no lyrics are present for instrumentals/solos etc.

peter Dear Peter, yes, it can be done manually but it is just tiresome to do manually.

I usually take the lyrics from ultimate guitar, convert it using a chordpro converter and paste it into stagetraxx.
Now i have to go through the lyrics line by line and remove the brackets or put all the chords in a single bracket with space between them. Would be nice to see that as an option (should be the default in my opinion) for version 4

But I think I could add a space after immediately before a chord tag ends in version 4.

Is it possible to create a specific gap between two chords, another program uses the TAB to allow users to create fixed spaces instead of the ‘one at a time’ spacebar ?

No, you need to add as many spaces within the tag as you want.
