Multitrack "Combine USB& Headphone Outputs"

Hello Peter,
I would like to use multitrack with the combined USB & Headphone Outputs mode. My backing Track in Main Output headphone output to headphones and an Auxiliary 1 click to USB with a USB lighting cable. The problem is that the USB lighting cable does not appear. I only have one choice: headphones. Is there a special configuration or maybe it's just not possible. My cable is new and works very well. Thank you in advance and good day . Sam (France Paris)

The lightning to audio adapter is not a USB audio interface. It really only works with USB interfaces. But to be honest, if you buy a USB interface, just buy one with 4 outputs. Much smoother setup and the combine option is deprecated anyway now that new hardware no longer has a headphone output.

Hey.. I have not that button for combine usb & headphones outputs on the latest upgrade on Mac.
Is there some way to get it back? I am kind of needing it, or then I have to pan the songs left/right

That's only available on iOS. On a Mac it is not possible to use 2 different audio interfaces at the same time in ST3.

I used to have that button, and used my Mac to play my backingtraks. Yesterday when I should test, I didn´t get the possibility to take it out on two outputs. I usually put click track on AUX and the rest on USB. Maybe I have to just pan L/R when I use the Mac. Gig tomorrow, so I have to get every thing to work properly. I have an iOS, so can use that for the gig.

It is not possible that you saw that button on a Mac. The Mac version of ST3 never had that button. Maybe you have set up an aggregate output device in macOS to combine two audio interfaces. That could maybe work in ST3.

Maybe you have right about that. But it didn´t work this way yesterday. Have to test it more.

Keep in mind, universal apps like Stage Traxx can only use the system audio output. So if you want to use a specific audio interface you have to select it in macOS as the default audio device.

Just a little beginner experience here. I was curious how combining USB and headphone Outputs works. I tried it with a zoom U-22 interface, but on my iPad I only had the Zoom for routing the outputs - no headphone available.
I wondered and tried several times, but then I plugged in a cable in the output, and the headphone appears, haha.

Yes, because when nothing is plugged in to the headphone socket, the iPad will use the internal speaker as the output and that can not be combined with the usb audio interface.
