Synching playlists between two apps

Trying to access the best of both worlds- Stage Traxx for playback and lyrics; Camelot Pro for managing my virutal instruments for songs. I have identical playlists set up in each app (the backing track in CP is muted).

Is there a way to sync the two app's playlists so that when I go to the next song in my Stage Traxx playlist (or if I manually choose a song which is out of order), I can send a message to CP to go to that same song, even if it's not in the same order in CP?

Set up program changes in Stage Traxx with the [midi: ...] command. This will be sent when the song is loaded into the player.

No, you need an individual program change for each song. So this command needs to be placed in the song lyrics. Setup program change numbers in CP and then let ST3 send those numbers when a song is loaded.

According to Camelot Pro help desk, the ID would be based on the song's ordinal position in a set list. Unique ID's for any song outside a setlist isn't possible.

"The current position-based rule (BankSelect MSB = Setlist, BankSelect LSB = Song within current Setlist, ProgramChange = Scene within current Song)"

So for example, if in CP I want to sync the song "Georgia", and in CP Georgia is the second song in playlist 1, then I would write my midi script in Stage Traxx using MSB=1, LSB=2. If I further wanted to go to the third scene (section) within the song in CP, then Program Change=3. Is that right?

Hm, this is really a bad design decision in Camelot. What if you want to maintain an alphabetical song list in Camelot and you add a setup somewhere in the middle? That would shift the program changes of all setups below it.

A contributor on the Camelot Facebook page mentioned that he uses OnSong and can assign a "permanent" midi program change number to each song. So then he triggers song changes in OnSong from Camelot. The opposite direction of what I'm doing. Could something like this be done in Stage Traxx?

Yes, that's possible. You can assign a program change command for each song in the song details view.

Would that be as simple as putting [midi: pc2@1] in the lyrics section where "2" is the number I've used to ID a particular song?

Yes, but without the midi tag. Just write PC2@1

Hei.
I am using also Camelot with Stagetraxx 3
My Midi Message that use for Changing the Song in Camelot is
[midi: CC0.0@CC32.XX@PC1@1]
XX Stands for the Setlist Number minus 1 ( If you want 81, then use 80 ).
The Message is received from Camelot over the REMOTE CONTROL SETUP - Camelot Master ( read only)
So if i try to switch to the next scene in the Song it doesn't work.
What I am doing wrong. ?
How ist the Syntax for a Scene Change to work within the song?
Must there be a Timestamp?
Could you help me?

Your syntax is wrong. You need to separate the commands with a comma:

[midi: cc0.0@1,cc32.xx@1,pc1@1]

Hello Peter,
my fault. I put this command in every song at the beginning.
[midi: CC0.0@1,CC32.XX@1,PC1@1]
This works.
But how must i write it in between the lyrics to change to the next scene in Camelot.?
The Scene switches with a PC2@1 ... Scene 3 PC3@1
do i need a timecode and [midi: CC0.0@1,CC32.52@1,PC1@1] like
[midi 01:00:78: CC0.0@1,CC32.XX@1,PC2@1]
Or only PC2@1..

My alternate workflow at the moment to get it working is
importing the Multitrack Files of Klick and Cue + evtl. the rest of Tracks from the Stage Track Multitrack folder and sync the beginning with ST3 manually i Camelot.
Then Set Markers in Camelot and set the Scene Changes to the markers.
This works, but it would be easier if i could change the scenes with midi commands in between the lyrics.,-)
