iPad storage space management with ST3

When a back track is uploaded to the iPad via iTunes and then pulled into the ST3 database as a song, does it mean that there are effectively 2 copies of the back track on the iPad? If so, can the copy of the back track in the iPad/Music/Songs be deleted once the backtrack has been set up in ST3 to save storage space on the iPad? Thanks.

Yes, once imported you can delete the track in iTunes. Even better: skip iTunes and import the mp3 file directly.

Definitely agree with this as iTunes will compress the file on transfer

jaytrax Not necessarily during transfer, but Stage Traxx will transcode it during file import as an app does not get access to the audio file in the music library but only to the uncompressed audio stream. So what Stage Traxx does is it will encode it again with AAC at 256kBit which will always degrade the audio quality a little bit.
