MIDI Learn has stopped working

Gday good people [Hi to the bad ones as well <;o) ]

Not sure why but MIDI learn has stopped working in teh Lyrics Editor. I'm using ST3 with a Helix and sending preset changes via midi commands in the editor.

Up until yesterday, I could start playing the track, engage the Midi Learn button, click on the physical footswitches on the Helix at the appropriate times in the tune, push stop on the Midi learn and the PC commands would be updated into the Lyrics editor.

This no longer works.

I can manually code in the changes (tediously) and the changes will occur (so it's receiving midi signals).

I've shut everything down and rebooted. Still not working properly.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Hugh, thanks for this suggestion. I'm actually using WIDI (wifi midi) and it's working fine for all songs to change existing preset changes (on the Helix) when the timecode is reached, but won't record the new stuff.

I'm assuming because it's changing the the other presets, and changing when I select a new song, that the midi itself is working (sending/receiving midi signal) so I'm again assuming it's a setting change, or update change??? Not sure.

It is working fine on my end. Just tried both while playback is stopped and while it is running and all midi messages are correctly recorded.

Hi Zac, I too have a Helix LT.
This happened to me a while back and I just gave up on it.
What I would say is that if using snapshots then there’s a setting for it on the Helix to allow the commands to work. Look at the midi send receive settings as well.
Sometimes with a firmware update it can reset some of these settings.
I am going to try the midi learn in ST3 soon as I have updated to 3.6 firmware.
I’ll let you know how I get on.

HughB Gday Hugh, apologies for the delay responding. Have been sick. That actually makes sense. I'll check the settings. I think there was a firmware udpate on the Helix Edit between when I last used it to record midi learn and just this week. I'll give that a go.
