peter The interesting thing is: how did you lose the waveform view? Did this happen during the update? Because that would be bad. There have been no database changes in the last beta that would explain something like this happening. Did you also lose lyrics on these songs?
As I was not updating my iPad for about 5 weeks being on holidays when I returned I was prompted to update my Beta to the latest version , after it installed I noticed there were no playlists available but my songs were still there, when I chose one I believe the lyrics were there as I hit play my loops were there and I noticed they were rally sharp and bright so I thought you got rid of the waveform which was really an improvement, but then as I hit my next song with no loops I also had no waveform, then I knew something was wrong, so I did a full backup install which then brought everything to normal but my iPhone with the same backup the songs went missing again as it’s going through the sync processing and I still am waiting for all the songs to appear 24 hours later, and this is what scares me if I have iCloud turned on and I happen to load a full backup to tweak it or just have a look at it, if I don’t remember to turn off iCloud, I Will unnecessarily trigger a full resync and will have to wait hours for all devices to catch up having 21 gb data , so that’s why I think every time you load a new full backup the iCloud should be automatically turned off and then when you turn it on you should be able to choose to sync to iCloud or sync from iCloud as an option that way once you are in sync any changes made on any device updates all devices, this then allows us to make use of full backups and a fast recovery to either sync to a perfectly good iCloud , or to update the iCloud with a new version of iCloud data, otherwise our hands are completely tied with no real fast options.
