Backing track sound quality not clear

Hi
I use the app to play backing tracks. I couldn’t use it for a gig last night as the playback of the tracks didn’t seem crisp and clear. I played a track from Apple Music and another app I have been using and it sounded great. Anyone have any ideas why?
I have imported exactly the same tracks. Now I’m a very ‘plug and play’ kind of guy so I don’t go deep with all the tech stuff. Any simple explanations/solutions would be very helpful. Cheers

Could you send me a recording of what you mean by "not clear"? Hard to judge from far away. Are you sure it is not just a lower volume you hear?

peter hi. No it’s more the clarity of the backing track through the speakers. I played the same song from the app and then from Apple Music and the Apple Music version just sounded crisper, brighter. It’s hard to explain. The best way I can is it was like SD compared to HD.

Do you have an EQ setup in iPad Settings -> Music?

Does it make a difference if you change the internal sample rate in Stage Traxx playback settings? And is the master equalizer in Stage Traxx turned off?

Master RW is not enabled. I had the sample rate set to 44.1kHz should I try it on 48?

Sorry that should be EQ not RW

Make sure your not fooling your ears,
Please note that audio files will play back -6db lower in Stage Traxx 3 than other apps or media players

OK, without a recording where I can hear the difference between Stage Traxx and Apple Music, I have absolutely no idea.

hi.. I had the same problem last night at a gig. I used same set list from another gig which sounded good but last time the tracks sounded very very low - low quality with a lot of bass, I changed the sample rate but same problem.

I'll ask the obvious question, did you try rebooting the ipad?

I've had this same issue about 8-10 times. It sounds like a lo-fi recording. Nothing over 2khz. I simply unplug the headphone jack and plug back in and bam! Back in business. Note- This only happens when plugging in a headphone jack. once you unplug/replug, it's fine for the rest of the time. It has never randomly happened during a performance.

This sounds like a hardware issue with the headphone jack or the cable.

I have also just had this occur so I fully closed the StageTraxx app and opened again and fixed the problem.
