Hello! Love StageTraxx - it's been working brilliantly for us and I'm just looking for a solution to make our hardware safer/more stable. Right now we're just using an iPad on a music stand with the L/R cables coming out of the headphone jack and being split to the mixer. Works just fine, but our shows are getting very big/professional and I feel like there just has to be a better/more professional/more stable/safer solution than what we're doing. I'd love an iPad dock but I'm googling and only finding older/discontinued options, or I'm simply coming up empty handed (or with additional confusion) in a google search. So is anyone here using a docking system for the iPad? Otherwise, how are you using StageTraxx live? I really don't want to have to dedicate a whole MacBook to running the show. Right now, our drummer has the host iPad and he triggers the tracks with an AirTurn footswitch. That works well so I'd like to keep it as compact as possible.

Would appreciate any advice/links. Thanks!

I use USB to mixer rather than mini Jack output.

Ive got my master iPad on the piano with a right angled USB-C extension to a hub with 2x USB A, hdmi and power delivery return.

Luckily I have an older iPad (for hosting) that lives on a mic stand clamp for when I pickup the guitar …… yet to setup but it’s on the cards

Perhaps find a hub that has all the outputs you need and run an extension off to a more stable place?

I guess a usb connection to a dedicated audio interface is a step in the right direction. From there into a DI box and to the mixer. But honestly, just running the headphone out with a short cable to a DI box lying on the ground should be just fine in most cases.

dazz4770 this looks great but I’m guessing it’ll only receive music via stereo and wouldn’t be able to receive a split signal of say a click and a backing track from ST?

been using stagetraxx for a few years now ,i use the ipad on bluetooth into bluetooth External DAC and take the output from that to the digital mixer its never missed a beat ever ,i then use the usb from the ipad to run my vocaliser on midi from stagetraxxs ,if you use a midi interface you can run any midi device you want, and using the external DCA you get much better sound quality than the internal DAC on the ipad

Since the launch of the original M-DAC in 2011, Audiolab’s range of standalone DACs has earned widespread acclaim and a host of awards from respected audio journals around the world. Last year’s arrival of the range-topping M-DAC+ and an all-in-one DAC/amp called the M-ONE extended the family by building upon the same award-winning technology.

Now another contender has entered the ring, the fourth model in the M-DAC range: The M-DAC mini. As the name suggests, the M-DAC Mini is the smallest hi-res DAC/headphone amp in

davedroug I assume it just plays stereo music tracks as opposed to a backing track panned left and a click panned right for example?

You can use a stereo interface to either send a stereo mix or backing left and click right. Does not make a difference. The only difference is how you plug these channels into your mixing desk.

Lishy i play in a duo ,i do all my own backing tracks in 32bit floating 48hz stereo. the art is to balance the backing track so you don't need 3000 channels to mix on the mixer ,just 2 inputs L/R ,then mics guitars go into the mixer ,don't need a click track cos the drums are in the backing tracks ,there's loads of ways you can configure it, you can go stereo bluetooth out to the DAC,for your main mix then use a USB audio interface to take any tracks to the mixer you don't want going through the DAC like (click) (bass) extra but and external DAC will improve your recorded tracks to a whole new level .🙂

davedroug you said that it is stereo Bluetooth but I’m guessing it can’t accept 2 different signals I.E a backing track right and click left and just stereo music?

you can configure the outputs on stage traxx ,i.e send your backing track mixed down to right stereo has a mono track and your click track to lift stereo to the dac ,but that defeats the object of having stereo backing tracks far better use a USB audio interface along with the dac that gives loads of options for to go at to plug into your mixing desk the point is to use the DAC to improve the quality of the recorded music making it more on a parr with your live instruments, but that depends on how good your backing tracks are .you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear 🙂

davedroug yes I know that I just wanted to know if the DAC would be able to receive separate tracks (one down left and one down the right) via Bluetooth?

48hrz 32bit floating they are big files but wow they don't half make a difference playing live and because your using 32bit floating its almost impossible to peak your files out when you kick the volume up as long has your files where recorded at 0,0db or below no nasty distortion 🙂 here one of my track all recorded using live samples https://www.bandlab.com/user7088264374062931/peaceful-easy-feeling-d37a67bf?revId=05882b80-ac93-ea11-96d2-0003ffd1fc09
