I have mixed my tracks to about -5 in volume on my Daw. When I load the tracks into Stage Traxx, the volume is now about -20. No Eq is taken into account, all parameters in Stage Traxx are set to 0. Can anyone help me here?

It should be -12. Stage Traxx plays all tracks with a 6dB safety margin to allow boosts of songs and frequencies without immediate danger of digital distortion.

If you really have -20, then some volume setting is at -8. Check song volume, playlist / queue volume and master eq gain.

peter I have carefully checked this, all parameters are at 0. But there is one thing that I do not fully understand, in the Settings menu, the top line called Volume, it cannot be controlled. If I drag the slider to the right it just jumps back to the left where it was... Is it supposed to be like that?

That's the hardware volume of your device. Can you control that with the volume buttons on your iPad?

peter I have not tried on my ipad, but I can control this volume on my iphone I see

If you are using an audio interface it might not respond to this slider.

But now I understand, this is the volume of my audio interface. When I switched to the internal sound card of the mac mini, I was able to control this volume slide.
Is this why I have -20 on my Persons sound card?

I would recommend using replay gain 2.0 calibrated to -23db this allows for more than +6 increases on slow songs or quiet backing tracks

I personally use beatunes on Mac but there are alternatives

To make things easy for perfect gain staging on the input of your digital desk
I recommend setting your gain on your desk at +15db

This is based on a 3.5mm to split mono jacks

The technical reasoning for this is line level consumer cable is -10db
So a +10 db is used to compensate

And in addition the difference of -23db replay gain to -18db (which is optimum for digital desks) is 5db so this is also added on the gain

Hence +15db on your digital desks input gain
